OBSDFL Season 2009/2010

The Orpington & Bromley District Sunday Football League (founded in 1948) kicked off its 61st season on the 6th September 2009.

82 teams are in 7 competitive divisions (Senior, Premier, then 1 through to 5) with between 11 and 13 teams in each division.

We also run 4 Cup Competitions (Jack Standen Cup, Paul Picard Cup and Smales’ Trophy - all named after people who gave many hours voluntarily to the smooth running of the OBDSFL) plus The President's Charity Cup.

Last season, in the County Cup Finals, we had a record FOUR OBDSFL teams, although ultimately only Hatcham were victorious in the Kent Junior Trophy.

In the Kent Premier Cup, Sun won a thrilling match against Centresports by 3 goals to 2 and Eden Park Rangers went down to 2 second half goals from Rainham 84.

In the London Challenge Cup, Baldon Sports proved too strong for Vista and 3 goals without reply was the final score.

16 and 17 year olds in Adult Football

Please be aware that current FA Regulations allow players of 16 and 17 years of age to play in ADULT football leagues. As persons of this age are classified in law as 'minors', any club using players of this age need to be aware of the Child Protection Policy (Safeguarding Minors) and make every effort to ensure they adopt the policy standards. It is not mandatory for clubs to have a trained and registered (with the County) a Child Welfare Officer although this is recommended.
